Boulders and Cobbles

| Boulders are upright stones which can be round or angular. They do not have parallel sides. Boulders are granite or limestone chunks approximately 2` thick, 2` wide and 2` long or larger. They are generally used as accent stone in yards, sometimes carved with names and addresses. Boulders can be used as decorative center pieces, hand placed walls, barriers, stops, and climbing pieces. Cobbles are round, football size, sometimes flat boulders. They can be naturally shaped or tumbled to simulate weathering. Cobbles average 5” - 10” or 10” - 15”. Sometimes cobbles are referred to as small boulders, fieldstones or creek rock. Cobbles can be used as dry stream beds, borders, as a replacement for mulch, and just general decorative accents. | |||
